Meet the newest addition to our working donkeys - a beauty who needs a new name.
If, after reading the following info about him, you have an idea for a name please email Mike your choice and reason for the suggestion.
This donkey was bought at auction in December 2009 and was frightened to death of everything. He had never been handled and was very nervous. It took five people to get him into the lorry to bring him home!
He is getting much better now, improving all the time and will be having his teeth done at the end of February.
He has been inspected and measured by Liz Ellis of the Sidmouth Donkey Sanctuary and the figures look like this:
14hh
700kg in weight
He is a four year old gelding, very strong (no need to go the gym this one!) and is still filling out. You can see how big he is next to Mike in the left picture above - Mike is 6'1".
Mike intends to use him for harness ploughing, removing cut wood from locations where you can't get a vehicle and pulling a cart to deliver firewood loads locally.
All he needs is a name - none of the Hercules or Titan type though.
